Right, this is a call for all you BBQ adventurers out there. At Turner & George, we fully commend all the wonderfully creative cooks that we see on a weekly basis. On your asados, drumbeques and goliath ceramics. All neatly embedded in your bespoke open kitchens, blazing and smoking away.

But what really gets us going are the pioneers of the portable BBQ. The micro-specialists who put up their gear at the beach, up on the hills, or in the wilds of their back garden and knock out feast after feast using nothing but 30 square centimeters of grill space. 

We know you are out there. Because we have been watching you. And by that, we mean on social media. We are not hiding in your garden.

Which is why we have teamed up with German Kamado Barbecue specialists Monolith Grill and put together one hell of a competition for the rest of the summer and heading into September.

Up for grabs is their ICON: A compact Kamado grill that revolutionizes grilling with its versatility and mobility. The Icon is ideal for barbecuing at the table or on the go and you can enjoy the full scope of an outdoor kitchen - grilling, baking, smoking, simmering, everything is possible.

And we're throwing in a huge bag of Monolith Charcoal and our Original BBQ Box in for good measure.

We’ve spent the last couple of weeks putting it through its paces and we have been sear-iously impressed with the ICON’s capabilities. When it comes to fuel consumption, a little goes a long way and the scope to apply a range of techniques and recipes is boundless. To see it up close, just head to any one of our stores, as we have the ICON on display.

With a little bit of imagination, we’ve been able to construct a few meat-fuelled banquets of our own - including smash cheese burgers with kimchi and onion, smoked kalbi short-ribs and UK ex-dairy rib eye on the bone, doused in bone marrow butter. We’ll be sharing these, don’t worry.

However, what we are really interested in is your own blowouts. 

So to enter, all we need you to do is simply enter snaps of your recent cooks, where the kit has been minimal but the menu has been expansive and with a meaty theme (obvs).

You might have something in the bag already. But if you don’t, you have until Friday 6th September to submit them to monolithcomp@turnerandgeorge.co.uk
